NYC Day-Time Talk Show seeking a Segment Coordinator to work under a Producer and Associate Producer on a creative producing team. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated, creative, collaborative, and thrive in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate should also have a strong interest in daytime television, pop culture, food, and lifestyle content.
Responsibilities include:
• Working with the Producer and Associate Producer to pitch and develop stories.
• Participating in all aspects of pre-production from guest booking, assembling research materials, coordinating logistics including field shoots, travel, and schedules, as appropriate and allowable under local circumstances.
• Finding and pre-interviewing potential guests and managing their experience from the first phone call right through a studio taping or remote interview.
• Managing team records and clerical duties including the team calendars, required release forms, and reimbursements.
• Working alongside the Producer to support producing team in the studio and remotely: preparing paperwork and materials, greeting and assisting all guests during show tapings. Must be comfortable working with a wide range of guests.
• Communicate with various departments including travel, field, clearance, legal, art, culinary, accounting, and scripts.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Must be resourceful, proactive, independent, and a great problem-solver
• Must be an excellent communicator with people of all levels throughout the production, including in writing and over the phone/video calls
• Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Must be detail-oriented and able to organize and track large amounts of information
• Must be able to follow directions and work independently when necessary
• 1+ year of experience working on a talk show, network news or lifestyle programming (including internships)
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel, Facetime, and Zoom.
