The Safety Coordinator will lead the implementation of health and safety practices in our workplace. The Safety Coordinator will support the safe operating of our television production in all aspects of safety and compliance and offer coaching to employees as needed and enforce all safety rules, protocols and regulations per local government guidelines.
Essential Functions
• Conduct regular safety meetings with staff
• Train, monitor and enforce safety protocols on set, in the office, on construction sites and in vehicles used for filming and for hair and makeup
• Report on ways to improve safety and implement those recommendations as needed
• Implement best hygiene practices for staff and locations
• Monitor food and beverage areas for safety compliance
• Monitor employee areas for compliance to safety protocols and social distancing
• Cover as Door Attendant to conduct Employee/Visitor wellness checks and keep accurate records of the results in daily reports
• Monitor number of people on set throughout the day to keep overall numbers in check
• Monitor set for employee PPE compliance
• Perform and/or oversee regular cleaning of common surfaces and restrooms
• Monitor and disperse cleaning and safety supplies as needed
• Set up and monitor hand washing stations and supplies and encourage staff to wash and sanitize hands
• Ensure all necessary public safety documents are clearly posted in areas they are required
• Coordinate overnight cleaning of sets as needed
• Quickly recognize and resolve production safety issues that arise during the course of normal production activities
Qualifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Outstanding organization skills
• Team player
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish is an asset
• Ability to work long hours as needed
• Provide own transportation
• Knowledge of Federal, state and local health and safety regulations
• Safety certifications, (Certified Safety Professional, OSHA, First Aid, and Food Handling) will all be considered assets
• Previous work in healthcare would be considered an asset
• Detail-oriented -- would rather focus on the details of work than the bigger picture
• High stress tolerance -- thrives in a high-pressure environment


Physical Requirements
· The standard work environment for this position is an indoor and outdoors and often a construction based environment.
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on intermittent to regular basis daily.
· The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
· The employee must regularly lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds
