Role Details:
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of broadcast operations and production activities. The Technical Director will work together with directors and producers in planning newscasts and overseeing the crew on Newscast pre-production activities.

Qualifications:

You have -
• At least 2 years of "hands-on" experience in the technical direction of television newscasts
• Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news
• Since the schedules will rotate, you must be able to work all shifts, including weekends and overnights, and holidays. Must be able to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice if needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Technical Director will function as one of the technical leads for a production during live game and/or studio broadcast productions. The Technical Director is responsible for set up and operation of the production switcher and associated technical equipment in the Production Control Room and/or live location environment. Finally, the Technical Director will operate as the "right hand" of the Show Director to develop and execute the creative and technical "look" of the production by creating special effects via the production switcher and various external effects equipment.

Your Role Accountabilities:

LIVE/TAPED PRODUCTIONS

• Set up and operate production switchers and all associated technical equipment in a Production Control Room and/or Live Location environment during live game and/or studio broadcast productions. Orchestrate control room set up while simultaneously evaluating and assigning all video inputs taking into consideration timing and video levels.
• Collaborates with the Director and Producer to execute the technical and artistic vision for each live game and/or studio production.
• Lead the technical portion of the production team during the production set up and coordinate the faxing of their equipment and show elements since their equipment and work passes through the production switcher.
• Collaborate with A1, V1, and other production entities needed for the technical fax to verify all video and audio signals are routed correctly and making it to their final destinations.
• During a live game and/or studio broadcast productions recall video sources, transitions and effects and route studio monitors as instructed by Show Director. Continuously monitoring all sources used during the production to ensure all video levels look correct and stay in timing which include external feeds (NBATV Arena Link/Satellite/Bonded Cellular/Etc.)
• Must be able to handle the pressures of live programming and limited time constraints

COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION

• Work closely with the Technical Operations and Production (BEST) Engineering to identify, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems for Live Location, PCRs and Studio productions. Making sure each problem is resolved to completion.
• Collaborates with Production (BEST) Engineering, Technical Operations and Production Management to identify and special order any equipment needed for live game and/or studio broadcast productions.
• Effective communicator across teams

PLANNING RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates documentation on switcher builds, effects builds and set up of the switcher for each broadcast production

Qualifications & Experiences:

• Minimum of 3 years of network level broadcast experience operating as a Technical Director for live game, live remote and/or live studio productions
• Knowledge of current industry standards
• Knowledge of video signal flow and video router operations
• Knowledge of IP router operations and the software used to edit panels
• Must be able to technically operate various models of video switchers, digital effects devices and other associated ancillary equipment
• Must take ownership and accountability for assigned projects
• Computer skills, using MS Office
• Able to work flexible, non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Audio-Visual Technician will support internal and external stakeholders of *** Corporation. The successful candidate will be required to support Audio-Visual (AV) systems on premise in all *** environments. The candidate will engage and work constructively with AV vendors, assist in overseeing AV system installations, and repairs. In this role, the candidate will provide technical support for all AV systems in coordination with *** Technology and AV vendors.

This is a key role, interfacing with all levels *** ween the Technology department and across business units. A successful candidate will be technically adept, hands-on, a self-starter, passionate about technology, communicative, and collaborative. This is an on-site position based out of our New York City Office.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide on-site Zoom and Conference room technical support for *** employees and other business associates at the "White Glove" level.
• Determine client expectations for all technical requirements for events.
• Maintain proper communication in setting the expectations and the delivery of services requested.
• Set up and adjust AV equipment for trainings, presentations, meetings, conferences, and events.
• Perform routine maintenance, testing and daily room checks to confirm functionality of all AV equipment and software.
• Collaborates with teams and project committees to ensure that audio/visual integrations adhere to company standards.
• Report issues and status updates in a timely manner to team and management, following proper escalation procedures.
• Install AV equipment including but not limited to displays, projectors, camera systems, video teleconferencing systems, microphones and speakers.
• Perform equipment additions, removals, repairs, replacements and inspections.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment and software malfunctions in a timely manner.
• Maintain a broad and in-depth knowledge of AV technologies.
• Provide after-hours and weekend support as needed.

**** YOU **** NEED

• 1 - 4 years of experience as an AV Technician or similar role.
• Experience and certifications for Dante, AV over IP, Extron, Shure, BiAmp, and Poly systems is a plus.
• Excellent communication and client interaction skills (including verbal and written communication).
• Commercial AV installation experience including best practices and safety requirements is a plus.
• Fundamental computer networking comprehension and configuration skills.
• Experience working with macOS and Microsoft operating systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
• Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills that are quality focused and consistent with *** 's standards.
• Must be able to operate in complex situations and working within multiple systems.
• Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy to heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
• Occasional out-of-state travel may be required for certain event servicing.

In this role, the Broadcast Technician will be responsible for equipment operation to support the *** News Detroit stream and broadcast.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must have strong technical capability and operate various studio, news, and control room equipment such as studio cameras, wireless mic/IFB systems, teleprompter, audio console, live production automation systems, and bonded cell, microwave, and satellite receive systems.
• Make "on the fly" changes, switching shots, camera angles, graphics and more
• Monitor video broadcasting equipment and resolve technical issues
• Ensure that all equipment is prepared for broadcast
• Lead and develop a team and work with developers for building our Live CMS platform for scheduling live events and 24/7 streams!
