Spectrum Productions – not the cable company - is looking for freelancers who are both Creative Writers and Directors with strong writing and storytelling skills to work with our Tampa-based team. You’ll collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to create outstanding content for our fantastic roster of clients. Our ideal candidate will have previous experience working in branded content specifically, for linear and non-linear digital entertainment properties and understand how to create content that is highly engaging, shareable and original.
We’re looking for a creative force – someone who can concept, script, direct, and see the creative through post-production. Content could range from branded entertainment content, documentaries, commercials, short films, Snapchat series, business to business videos, to anywhere in between. You should be a strong storyteller (narratively and visually) and be able to collaborate with both our creative and production teams, as well as our clients. As part, you must be a strong, clear communicator, a team player, working closely with our Creative Director, DP’s, producers, and editing staff. This position requires the ability to work with minimal direction and the capacity to move quickly while delivering creative that will over-deliver for our clients.
What You’ll Do:
• Work autonomously or with our Creative Director to brainstorm, strategize and develop ideas, as well as timely execution of creative projects and deliverables with support from our producing staff
• Write concept decks, outlines, scripts, copy or any other writing requirements per the project specifications
• Creatively produce and direct video content, overseeing talent, style, camera, lighting, audio, music, editing and art direction
• Ensure all creative deliverables meet the client’s brand standards and adhere to strategy, branding guidelines, as well as adherence to established workflows, policies and budgets established at Spectrum
• Solve creative challenges and translate client needs into actionable outcomes
Requirements:
• 10+ years of video production and content creation experience as a writer and director or similar role within an advertising agency or production company
• Portfolio that demonstrates strong editorial judgment and technical comprehension
• Experience directing creative through post-production
• Ability to build working relationships with core and cross-functional teams
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to track and translate client feedback and be adaptable in a fast-paced environment
• Team player able to prioritize work and approach projects and our internal staff with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset
• Willingness to travel and have a valid driver’s license and passport
