Typical day-to-day functions for this role include-

Supervise the online editing and audio sweetening of promos produced by the writer/producers and assigned by the Director of Production. This includes directing the activity of online editors/colorists, audio mixers, and voice-over talent.
Lead and QC (quality control) the production of promo *** files for final air ensuring they adhere to marketing/branding requirements and specs.
Properly transcode promo files to requested specs and codecs, primarily using Adobe *** Encoder.
Trafficking and archiving promos in a DAM / MAM environment.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with a major in Television or Film production (from a four-year college or university or two to five years of related experience (e.g., SVOD, a television network, network affiliate, major film studio, production company or advertising agency) and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a creative marketing background with extensive experience in short-form production. Experience in broadcast, cable, and/or streaming preferred.
Supervising and scheduling production personnel is critical. A proven technical background in post-production is key!
Must have a thorough knowledge of editing, audio mixing, *** file formats, animated graphics, and miscellaneous equipment used in typical day-to-day post-production. Understanding of file-based post-production workflows is required.
Mac and Windows operating systems, spreadsheets, database systems, and general word processing. Adobe *** Encoder experience preferred.

Lead operational support of all activities related to operating, maintaining, and programming the audio and video production/distribution systems across the enterprise and other connected properties.

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of previous and proven experience in technical environments of *** Engineering and live *** production and distribution environments.
Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent major, and/or equivalent work experience.
Advanced understanding of broadcast control room equipment, including familiarity with modern broadcast cabling infrastructure used in broadcast environments.
Advanced knowledge compression techniques such as MPEG2/4, HEVC, JPEG 2000, and JPEG XS.
Proficient with Evertz software control systems such as frame control via VistaLink or Magnum, EQX/EXE routers, and their monitoring software VLPRO, SDVN, VIP, VUE, MVP.
Profound familiarity with major *** systems and the vendors that supply them in areas such as asset management systems, file-based workflows, *** acquisition, transcoding/encoding, graphics, and NAS/SAN technologies.
Expert level knowledge and experience with Nielsen (NACAT), VANC equipment, Linear Acoustics, and other related systems.
Comprehensive proficiency in coordinated receiver decoders IRDs, core devices, edge devices, timing of video and audio systems, audio and video *** file formats are a plus.
Ability to create, read and interpret AutoCAD and other technical drawing/documentation tools.
Extensive expertise in providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to in one or more of the following:
IP-based broadcast equipment including routers, switchers, audio boards, signal processors, encoder/decoder, video scalers, playback systems, etc.
Studio technology includes video walls, cameras, VR set technology, image processing systems, touch screens, lighting, etc.
File-based workflows like enterprise *** Asset Management systems (Cloud-based Cloud Compute or Local Network-based) including storage, compute, encode and distribution.
Production control systems such as Imagine Communications or Grass Valley automation systems, Avid, Adobe, Viz, Dalet, Riedel trunking, Lawo, Calrec, Evertz, Ross and others.

Associate Manager, Post Production - Live

We are seeking an experienced Post Production professional to help manage both internal and third party productions, inclusive of a wide range of LIVE programming such as large tent pole variety events, award shows, comedy formats, sports, unscripted, and more. This role will serve as a network touch point ensuring our external producing partners are effectively onboarded, supported, and assessed for our post production workflows. Responsibilities include supporting the Post Production leads, establishing and curating vendor & staff/crew relations, managing document distribution & communication flow, liaising with internal cross-functional teams, and supporting/suggesting best practices from pre production through delivery while working with production companies. This position will report to a Director of Live Post Production and will be based out of the *** offices in Los Angeles, CA.

The Role

A successful candidate will be passionate and deeply knowledgeable about post production planning, management, logistics and have LIVE or live to tape post production experience on programming that has aired or streamed on major platforms, such as networks or large scale streaming platforms. They will be self-motivated, flexible, thorough, and capable of juggling multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization, communication, and unwavering attention to detail at all times. A priority to learn is key, as the LIVE slate is ever changing and requires the education of new technologies and practices within production and post production.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Support the post partners through various processes during the setup and execution of the project such as guidance on vendors, disseminating information to the studio, and uploading deliverable materials
Liaise with the post production vendors to ensure they are on-boarded and trained to lean on our various tools and *** workflows (e.g tools for cut reviews, delivery of AV deliverables)
Audit completion/delivery of post production materials during pre, production, and wrap
Gather, track and enter various production and post production related data among multiple platforms
Build agendas, participate in or lead tech kick-offs and ongoing production/post production meetings for all LIVE productions
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Publicity, Photo/AV Studio, Safety, Sustainability, and Events regarding on-location activities taking place during a LIVE broadcast
Collaborate effectively with internal operations & technical teams as well as other production associate managers to streamline workflows across all apps and content teams
Assist with identification and curation of experienced, high quality post production staff and crew
Participate in *** a testing proprietary apps while offering constructive feedback about the end user experience
Any other duties as necessary to support the productions and the LIVE department

Qualifications:

5+ years experience working in post production management at a network, production company, or vendor. The ideal candidate also has LIVE post production experience with programming that has aired or streamed on a major platform such as networks or large scale streaming platforms. Candidates will need to be at least a Post Production Supervisor level equivalent outside of *** .
Ability to handle a fast paced and high performance environment and a high volume of projects and courage to take educated risks while thinking outside the box while always responding in a timely manner
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to multitask
Proficiency in Google Workspace (including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Mail and Drive) as well as Slack.
Able to build presentation decks, and speak on post production live workflows within various internal and external forums
Well informed and curious about all aspects of production and post production
Team-player who operates in a fast paced setting
Ability to be discrete and maintain confidential information
Understanding of how to prioritize and respond accordingly

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $50,000 - $245,000.
