Austin McCarthy

Position was created to bring production in-house, allowing the company to produce TV commercials and presentations in a more timely and cost efficient manner. Videographer, Audio Mixer, Director and created, distributed and maintained video projects for 19 campuses in 10 different states.

The freelance work started as a single project, but due to the positive feedback received from the first video, I gained additional work. Created an opening day presentation for the 2010 school year using the provided assets. Storyboarded and ediited a video to unveil the new athletics logo for the college.

Our team's film, Rewinders, made it into the top 20 films and won two awards: Best Editing and Best Use of the Required Prop. Working with a small team and only 48 hours to complete an entire project allowed me to wear multiple hats including: Directing, Videography, Editing and Sound Mixing.

Our teams film, Moral Hazard, made it into the top 24 films out of the 80+ submissions. My main role was handling the films editing, but I also helped where I was needed on the production end.

Internship I held in my final months of college led to paid work as a Production Assistant on shoots. Patched edit suites to capture devices and captured footage in multiple formats. Created graphics for various projects and helped organize their tape archive.
