As the lead producer, I worked closely with top management, helped game-plan with story ideas and format, supervised a staff of five, gave notes on scripts and cuts, wrote the cold and teases and shepherded the project through post and delivery.

Was the title an oxymoron? Maybe, but this clip show was incredibly fun to produce. The ridiculous moments, glaring miscues and general mayhem made for great TV. And Joan and Melissa knew how to have fun with all of it -- which showed in my standups for them.

Producing this clip show meant looking at a thousand cringe-worthy moments. But worth it because like them or not, the Riverses never are dull.

Produced and wrote 16 hour-long episodes of the popular biographical series. Episodes included profiles of Harrison Ford, Gary Sinise, Dick Van Dyke, Katey Sagal, Kevin Bacon and others. Promoted to supervising producer of series in spring, 2001.

Wrote, co-produced acclaimed episode about River Phoenix. When the series marked its 200th produced episode, fans voted the Phoenix show as the sixth greatest-ever episode of THS.

My first foray into long-form programming, I produced and more than a dozen half-hour biographical portraits. On this ultra low-budget clips show, I learned the art of making TV from practically nothing. Did a damn good job, too.

Parlayed my background in local TV news (in L.A.) to position with E!'s just-launching, first-ever long-form news program. Left newsroom when opportunity arose at the network to produce long-form programming at the network.
