Clara Maria Díez

As a PA on the film set of "The 33", I flew out to the Atacama Dessert in Copiapo, Chile to assist with on set production needs. My responsibilities varied from setting up tents for the director and camera team, to holding an umbrella over the lead actors in between takes, to crowd control when we were shooting scenes in busy cities. As a PA I also made sure the crew was well hydrated as well as protected from the sun by handing out hats and sunscreen. Although I was only part of that set for 2 weeks, it was an incredible experience where I learned a great deal and had the opportunity to work with very talented people from the industry.

At the time I was an Intern at the Bass Museum of Art, I was assisting with the instillation of the new exhibition, UNNATURAL. Because many of the art works were video instillations, I researched different projectors that would best suit their needs. I also worked closely with one of the artists, Tomer Sapir, in order to create the slideshow in which his photographic series "Full Crypto-Taxidermical Index" was presented. I also assisted with cataloguing and moving currently unused Bass Museum artwork into storage.

At the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts we direct 2 short narratives, a documentary and a final thesis film. At FSU Film we do not specialize in a single field and instead rotate through positions in order to be well versed in production, art, cinematography, camera assistant, grip and electric, sound, script supervision and assistant directing.
