My work begins with the development phase of a production. It is first of all conceptual: I decided that a particular story and genre will prove profitable or at least attract a wide viewership. The story for Dark Glasses was an original idea I worked with a screenwriter to develop a treatment, in order to create a Dossier as a basis for gaining initial financing and getting stars or actors to commit to the project. I work hard in raise the funds for the production after estimating a budget for the project. Hence, my work is also financial in nature. My functions were creative, conceptual, financial, managerial, administrative, and promotional, and they extend across the entire filmmaking process into marketing and distribution.

The film was a coproduction. I’m one of the producer.

Raised more than $35000 in donations and grant money to fund [Producciones LargasLuces] a production company set in Havana, Cuba. It emerged from the need to support projects by young filmmakers unable to make their works because of the vertical production structure existing in the country. Cuba is a country lacking a fund for film production. LargasLuces Productions was created with the purpose of contributing to the execution of projects made apart from the ICAIC industry.
