Staff Position — Litton Entertainment Details

Litton Entertainment produces over 800 hours of Emmy Award-Winning programming on leading broadcast networks including ABC, CBS, NBC and The CW. Over span of four years, was lead AE on 8 different half-hour unscripted series airing on ABC, NBC, and CBS using Premiere. Duties included tracking and ingesting large volumes of footage, organizing the media on our SAN and inside Premiere, creating dailies sequences for producers, facilitating getting interviews/scenes transcribed and sent to writers, and using paper scripts to create radio cuts for editors to edit with. Once the projects and media were with the editors, I tracked producer notes and helped the editors acquire any required assets from our GFX department or stock websites. When the edits were locked, I reconnected the media on the SAN, purchased and upressed any stock footage used, prepped the projects for mix and created AAFs/reference videos, color corrected inside Premiere and occasionally in Resolve when necessary, assembled final versions for QC with show-runners and producers, and implemented any remaining notes. After the QC process was completed, I exported episodes to network specifications for delivery, created PR deliverables, media managed the projects, and created archive material so that episodes could be offloaded on to LTO tapes and Areca towers. For certain NBC shows, I was tasked with creating versions of each episode for Telemundo. This consisted of replacing English host wraps with Spanish host wraps and adjusting the edit to get back to time, sending transcripts of episodes to be translated into Spanish for dubbing and VO, creating textless masters and GFX elements to be converted to Spanish, and working with sound mixer to create necessary audio stems. We would occasionally get media in from overseas that would need to be conformed to NTSC standards, in which case I would use a Blackmagic Teranex and FCP7 to convert footage from 25fps into 29.97fps. During the summer months, diginets would buy shows that we previously delivered to other networks. For these, I would re-edit to meet their specifications using media managed projects and mix files, frequently adding up to 2 minutes per episode for some shows. These shows would also need closed captioning adjusted from how it was created for the original network, so I used MacCaption to revise formatting as necessary. Often times, I pulled footage from our LTO archives for editors to use in current episodes.
