Responsibilities included ~ • Budget • Cost reports • Negotiating and managing contractors and crew • Scheduled domestic & international shoots • Handled location logistics • Oversaw the acquisition of all necessary rights, clearances, and releases. • Forecasted spending and management of the cash flow (within the constraints of funding parameters). • Proactively communicating with producers to guide them on the budgetary impact of their decisions. • I use creative choices in managing production, adjusting timelines, budgets and staff configurations to accomplish these goals in the most cost-effective manner. • Communicated with OPB human resources, legal and finance when necessary, to identify, hire and manage vendors, employees, and other resources. • The creation of financial and other data analysis was also an ongoing process to meet internal and external reporting needs as required for OPB and NSF.

Debra did an outstanding job in all respects. She monitored the budget and tracked expenditures, she set up shoots, she created contracts with freelance crew and a variety of vendors and contractors, she oversaw the production schedule and timeline, ...MORE...
she helped generate reports required by the National Science Foundation, and much more. On each of these tasks, she did a great job. We were (are) producing a major four part national PBS series funded by the National Science Foundation so all aspects of the projects had to adhere to strict federal funding and reporting guidelines. Debra helped insure that we were able to do this. She is good humored and hard working, and was a great team member. The project has come to an end, so her position came to an end as well, but we miss Debra at OPB.
