Story Producer (Post Production) Life Below Zero (Season 4)

National Geographic — TV — BBC Worldwide Details
11/15 – 12/17

I produced a compilation episode of highlighted stories from the first 4 seasons that were tailored toward a specific theme that the network used as the premiere to kick off the new season. I rewrote the original VO's and trimmed down the preexisting cuts on the Avid from key story moments that already aired on previous episodes of the show.

1/16 – 2/16

Story Producer (Control Room) 60 Days In

A&E — TV — Lucky 8 Details
1/16 – 2/16

I directed a TV crew of seven people in a control room environment as we documented 10 civilians that volunteered to go under cover as inmates for 60 days in a corrupt county jail in Southern Indiana. My main duty was to track daily character story beats, develop seasonal story arcs and to direct my control room crew as we followed daily activities via fixed robotic surveillance cameras and mounted proximity microphones inside the main jail pods.

8/15 – 9/15

Supervising Producer (Field Operations) Alaska: The Last Frontier (Season 5)

Discovery — TV — Discovery Studios Details
8/15 – 9/15

I led multiple TV crews alongside another Supervising Producer to document the daily life of the Kilcher family as they managed their 3rd generation homestead near the small town of Homer, Alaska. I tracked daily and seasonal story arcs, managed challenging cast members, planned remote shoots in the bush & helped arrange major story beats into various episodes to meet the network's programming needs on a very tight delivery schedule.

Story Producer (Post Production) Life Below Zero (Season 3)

4/15 – 5/15

I produced a compilation episode of highlighted stories from the first 3 seasons that were tailored toward a specific theme that the network used as a premiere to kick off the new season. 2/15 – 4/15

Producer/Shooter Life Below Zero (Season 4)

National Geographic — TV — BBC Worldwide Details
2/15 – 4/15

I led a skeleton TV crew that consisted of a Director of Photography, Media Manager/Specialty Camera Operator and a Registered Safety Guide to be embedded in various remote parts of rural Alaska. Our objective was to document people that live a subsistence lifestyle off-the-grid through a means of hunting, fishing and trading. My duties included planning daily shoots, tracking multiple episodic story beats, directing cast members, operating as secondary camera and making daily update calls into the LA office via satellite phone to download major story points with the post production executives in Los Angeles, CA.

10/14 – 1/15

Supervising Producer (Field Operations) Sons of Winter

Discovery — TV — Gurney Productions Details
10/14 – 1/15

I led a 5 person embedded crew that documented two young fur trapping brothers as they embarked on a winter long journey by themselves to survive in the Canadian wilderness. My duties included planning daily shoots based off of a soft script that was approved by the network, directing my camera crew and cast members, conducting daily interviews to capture story related sound bytes, and coordinating very specific pick-up scenes that were added to our daily schedule by the post production team in El Segundo, CA.

7/14 – 8/14

Producer/Shooter (Embedded Solo ) Swamp People (Season 6)

History — TV — Original Media Details
7/14 – 8/14

I was a one-man-band camera operating producer on a small river boat assigned to document people that made their living hunting alligators on the Bayou in a rural part of Louisiana. Some of my duties included planning daily shoots, simultaneously juggling multiple episodic story beats, taking daily story notes, collaborating with our specialized cinematography team on a weekly basis and managing a cast with very challenging personalities.

6/14 – 7/14

Producer/Shooter (Embedded Solo) Alaska: Battle on the Bay

Animal Planet — TV — Trooper Entertainment Details
6/14 – 7/14

I was embedded as a one-man-band shooter/producer on a 32ft fishing boat for 5 weeks to track and document major story coverage about the most controversial and largest commercial salmon fishery in the world. I was responsible for character development, boat branding, high speed specialty cinematography and GoPro POV camera rigging for additional story moments. Other duties included downloading solid state media from 5 cameras and a wireless fed multi-track audio recording device, writing story notes and making daily scheduled conference calls to the LA office via satellite phone for story downloading & team development of long-term story arcs with the post team.
