As a over-hire technician, I am responsible for helping with load in/load outs of touring or local productions. I help with the set-up and build for the scenic design. I assist with the light and speakers hang; I am responsible for setting up backline, microphone placement, speaker placement and patching the stage for all events. Before every show I have to make sure all equipment is properly working and sounds adequate (this is prior to the artist(s) and band arriving for sound check or show).

It is my job to operate the audio recording equipment on set. My responsibilities are to properly position microphones on principle actors in a way that won't be seen by the camera, but will still capture the best quality dialogue and sounds to be used in the post-production editing and mixing. I am responsible for making sure all input levels are recorded and mixed clean and are properly labeled for the editor(s). I may also have to mic the environment or set, whenever necessary.

As a freelance Audio Engineer / Technician, I some times load in the venue with speakers, microphones, consoles and backline. I am responsible for setting up backline, microphone selection and placement, speaker placement and patching the stage for all events. Before every show I have to make sure all equipment is properly working and sounds adequate (this is prior to the artist(s) and band arriving for sound check) It is my job to maintenance all equipment such as microphones, cables, amps, wedges, etc. I help with load-ins, load-outs, and also assist lighting and video. As a Front of House Engineer it is my job to mix the show for the audiences enjoyment and pleasure. When doing Monitors, I am on stage, catering to the artist(s) and band, making sure that everyone has what they need and is hearing what they need to hear through their personal wedges or IEMs; NO Feedback! It is my job to make sure there are no mishaps on stage, and if anything were to happen it is my responsibility to find or create the solution. Often time when doing monitors, I am also a stagehand.
