Joe Warner

My duties at Tomorrow Pictures required me to complete assigned editing projects to the specifications of the producer and client. I often worked independently to construct the storyline, add soundbites and relevant b-roll, and polish off with music and graphics. I either created simple animations on my own or collaborated with the graphics team on more complex assignments. I also would help out on video shoots with grip, audio, and camera duties.

Working as a production assistant for The Weather Channel, my duties would require me to operate robotic cameras during live shows while operating the teleprompter. I would also work as a floor director when needed. Everyday, we would have pre-show meetings where other PA's and the director went over the show rundown, and would collaborate on creative and functional ideas to ensure everything ran smoothly with high production value.

Since I was a freelancer at WSB, it opened me up to work in a variety of positions. I did a lot of work in the studio setting up for live and pre-recorded shows. I would operate cameras including manual pedestal, robotic, and jib. I also helped out on shoots in the field working as a grip. Occasionally, I would go out and shoot news packages on my own, that required me to interview people and shoot relevant b-roll. Finally, during the season, I will help out with the high school football segment during the news. This required me to shoot and edit highlights for games, write scripts, and supervise other freelance camera persons to ensure everything was in the system for the 11pm news.
