Alex Shifman

It was my job to take the project from idea to production. I created segments, wrote scripts, hired crew, and managed deliverables.

As the producer of American Kung Fu my responsibilities included finding stories, meeting the principle interview subjects (the Kung Fu masters of NYC), arranging shoot dates, writing outlines, on site producing, writing and recording the VO, creating the first edit, communicating with the polish editor, and OK'ing the final script.

As an associate producer, writer and researcher for Up Close it was my responsibility to to find stories that tie Chinese and American culture, understand them fundamentally and make the presentable to a Television audience.
