I was responsible of the visual look of the documentary. I chose the gear and lights. I directed the host and blocked the scenes with the guests. I would shoot the interviews with two cameras. Otherwise the shoot was mostly handheld run & gun. We filmed in several locations in Zambia, Africa for Plan International about child marriages. We interviewed 12-19 year old girls who are currently or used to be married as a child. Most of them were traumatized so we had to be very considerate.

As a director of photography I was responsible of the visual look of the show, I chose the the camera and lights we used and operated the a-camera. We did a lot of interviews during the 45 days of shooting but mostly it was run & gun documentary work but I managed to do lighting in every interior we shot and in interviews. We filmed mentally handicapped athletes who were getting ready for the Special Olympics. We were told before hand that sometimes filming might be a bit challenging but we quickly learned that friendly smiles and hugs went long way and the shoot went really smoothly. We filmed on location different cities in Finland and at the Special Olympics in Los Angeles.
