Lead Colorist
Staff Position — The Jim Henson Company Details
6/08 – 2/09
I worked on Sid the Science Kid as Lead Colorist, using Final Cut Pro, Color, and Scratch, coordinating my efforts with two part-time colorists that were very helpful when the volume of work overflowed the ability of a single person to handle it.
We used mattes to separate the characters, environments, props, and exteriors so that each part of the frame could be color corrected individually - this gave us a tremendous amount of flexibility in how we manipulated the overall look of the rendered images.

Promotions Producer/Editor
Staff Position — CBS13/CW31 (KOVR/KMAX) Details
3/06 – 12/07
I started at CBS 13 as a shooter-editor in the promotions department, lighting and shooting topical promos in as creative a way as I could imagine. This eventually morphed into sweeps promos, and as the need for it developed, writing and producing spots myself.
Several of the spots I've worked on have been nominated for Emmy's, and two of them have won. I've also produced several spots that CBS decided to showcase in their "State of Our Art" compilation DVD that is sent to every station in the group. That was the first recognition I had for my work outside of the local area, and it felt really good.
2/05 – 12/07
Editor and Post-Production Supervisor
Staff Position — RTV Pictures, LLC Details
2/05 – 12/07
This was my first Indie-feature film project, of which I took the role of guiding us through the treacherous waters of post-production. My role was basically more of a post-production factotum - sound design, color, editing, outputs, etc. Being a relatively low-budget production, there was not a lot of money to go around for assistants and the like, so most of these duties fell on me, certainly part of the reason it took so long. The other half of that is as I said - our first feature, it's a steep learning curve. We had to recut the film a number of times and retool the story for it to be cohesive and meaningful for the audience, a challenge I relished, and look forward to one day tackling again on future projects.
10/02 – 11/05
Co-Founder and Partner
Staff Position — VisionCollective Details
10/02 – 11/05
VisionCollective is how I put myself through college - in Humboldt Country, there are not a lot of video production companies, and what few there are (or at least were) were typically out of date and overpriced. VisionCollective helped fill that niche by filming events and providing advanced video services for the University for a very competitive price.
As I wrapped up my studies, VisionCollective became a vehicle to produce films and other projects. I wrote several short scripts throughout this period, and directed a short film entitled "Food Chain" that was well received at the Silverlake Film Festival in 2004.
