The Bel Air Wine Festival, the fund raising arm of SoCal Gives Inc., has been granted tax exept status under IRS code 501(C)(3) which means your donations are fully tax deductable! Our inaugural event will culminate with a star studded auction on Saturday Feb 28, 2015 in beautiful Bel Air, California. This date has been purposely selected to occur on the first Saturday following the end of Hollywood awards season. Funds raised in this event and throughout the year will be used to make grants to support local SoCal charities and beyond in the areas of: Education, Children and Families in Need, Medical Research, Environmental, Animal Welfare and even Entrepreneurial. Join us as we celebrate amazing rare wines, great food from noted chefs and bidding on our exciting, unique auction lots which will include valuable wines of course. Other features could include winning a prestige car, art, celebrity hangout dates, tv/movie cameo roles and cool one-of-kind vacation experiences. The aim of the nonprofit is to keep administrative expenses low, probably in the area of 10-15% of revenue raised. Simply put, our goal is to have 85-90 cents of every dollar go to the causes. None of the board of directors, or volunteers will be paid a salary. SoCal Gives is currently seeking sponsors, volunteers and auction donations. The Sundance Institute Catalyst Forum brings together culturally engaged creative investors with projects from Sundance Institute’s acclaimed artists. The invitation-only Catalyst Forum offers a small group of prospective investors access to 12 of the strongest upcoming feature and documentary film projects, handpicked by Sundance Institute’s Program Directors. Creative investors interface directly with filmmakers through project presentations, informal social gatherings, and individually scheduled one- on-one meetings, allowing the power of the projects and meaningful relationships to emerge. These activities are combined with a curated program of speakers, panels, break out sessions and case studies featuring film finance experts, producers, distributors, marketers, and filmmakers that invite creative investors to explore the risks and rewards of film investing. Special screenings and artist conversations inspire discussion and build community among all attendees—filmmakers, panelists and investors alike.
