Producing and directing an independent feature-length documentary on teenagers in the foster care system. I have led the project from concept through post-production (fundraising, researching, gaining access and building trust in very sensitive situations, producing shoots, conducting interviews and shooting verite material, overseeing the edit). We have reached a stage where my co-producer has taken over day-to-day responsibilities, which leaves me available for new projects.
Summary
A specialty in capturing intimacy, honesty and emotional truth within strong dramatic frameworks--and creating the space to shoot this material by producing with discipline, focus, intelligence and rigor. With a sense of fun and kindness as well.
