Shawn Gonzales

Logging/Transcribing raw footage, assisting the story team, pulling bytes, locating footage, and doing scripts for each episode. Was also a Story PA. I assisted with projects by cutting down footage, stringing out possible stories and deleted scenes. Also did runs, lunches/crafty, loading equipment, and shipping equipment to Alaska.

Main duties included transcribing OTF interviews, logging footage, and coordinating with the Supervising Story Producer. Also assisted Story Producers and Editors with locating footage, pulling specific bites, and creating stringouts of relevant material.

This internship was completed as a part of the Red Varden Studios Assistant Training Program. I learned traditional assistant duties including rolling calls, managing a phone sheet, and maintaining a schedule. In addition, I learned skills such as script coverage, conducting casting outreach, and drafting treatments and one sheets.

Supported all activities on set before, during, and after filming. Responsible for returning various lighting, grip, and camera equipment to rental facilities. Assisted with the needs of the production including driving large trucks, handling equipment, and craft services.

I ran the office while the Executive Producer was on location in India, by answering phones, responding to emails, and sorting mail. Additionally, I uploaded the companies video portfolio to various sites on the web, and also researched the top one hundred non profit organizations and their advertising expenditures.

Transcribed interviews for a documentary film in post production. Also researched music, quotes, and news headlines to potentially be used in the film.
