This past year my husbands job was transferred to Phoenix, AZ and we had our first baby. Therefore, I am no longer a Los Angeles local. Although, I am very happy and thankful to say I have not had to sacrifice my career in casting. Through my connections and professional reputation I have been able to continue working as a casting producer for LA based casting companies. I work from home but I am still an active part of the team. I am there for every meeting via Skype/FaceTime, I check in every morning and send a end of day update to my director. Additionally, I am always available anytime time of the day or night for my team. I Skype/FaceTime potential candidates for the show I am working on and immediately upload the raw footage to either a shared Dropbox or Google Drive. Lastly, in addition to being extremely active and detailed with grids I also use Trello. Trello is a platform which shows real time updates with pictures and description to anyone who is shared on the board (almost like a live soft pitch). All of these tools allow me to be 100% involved as if I was in the office.
