Job Description

As part of the *** U DM&I team, this Sr. Analyst will be responsible for developing data framework and automating data transformation and dataflows across the data science platform. Our data science platform serves as a basis for advanced analytics including, but not limited to audience predictive models, real time data analysis, *** mix models, campaign optimization, data assessments for 1st, 2nd and 3rd party data, and audience development (sizing, planning, profiling). This role reports directly into the Director of Data Science. To succeed, the Sr. Analyst is expected to demonstrate strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, strong communication and trouble-shooting skills, and the ability to work on multiple engagements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, the Sr. Analyst will work closely with business owners, teammates and engineers to build out state-of-the-art audiences for *** U brands and advertisers!

Build data models in dbt to transform data into bronze, silver, and gold layers to serve various business use cases

Prepare monthly journal entries and assist with the month-end close process
Perform month-end balance sheet reconciliations including bank and A/R accounts and investigate/correct items as needed
Preparation of monthly/quarterly financials and analysis including P&L and Balance Sheet
Record fixed asset purchases, disposals, and depreciation
Perform monthly reporting and analyses for fixed assets
Meet internal and corporate deadlines

Job Description

This Senior Financial Analyst is a key member of the Pricing & Revenue Management department and performs detailed financial analyses of attendance trends and forecasts to make strategic recommendations for ticket pricing and product offerings. By providing high-quality insights, this Senior Financial Analyst supports both the short-term and long-term financial success for Universal *** Hollywood.

Responsibilities include:

Weekly analysis of ticket pricing, products, sales channels, and promotions to provide explanations of revenue trends and forward pacing. This requires maintaining advanced Excel models and translating data into actionable insights.
Developing innovative pricing initiatives (e.g. volume-tiered, variable pricing) and evaluating their success (e.g. sensitivity, break-even, volume analysis) to drive revenue and margin growth.
Partnering with various teams (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Operations, IT) to execute key business initiatives
Supporting FP&A in the development of the Annual Budget, Five-Year Plan, and Quarterly Estimates for ticketing revenue
Supporting Halloween Horror Nights program via forecasting, ticketing product decision analysis, pricing, and capacity management.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or related field
3+years of progressive experience within finance or analytics
Must be willing to work in the Universal City offices on a hybrid basis
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Experience with Domo, Tableau, Microstrategy, R, Python, or VBA a plus
