Job Description
Finance news brand is seeking an experienced video editor to edit engaging, informative and timely video features, recurring series episodes and in-depth interviews. The video editor will regularly work on segments ranging from eight to 10 minutes with opportunities to expand stories to 25 minutes for OTT platforms.

These originals will be expected to capture viewers' attention through their sharp perspective, approachable style, and clear relevance to the biggest investments and financial questions investors face. You will help spearhead execution across a range of programming formats.

You will work closely with reporters, studio, graphics, and more to elevate brand’s feature video stories. We have an exciting opportunity for a Freelance Producer/News Editor to supervise the staff for our network radio news operations (terrestrial and *** News Headlines 24/7 - Channel 115 on *** Radio). As the Freelance Producer/News Editor you are our editorial leader, working with news anchors to craft the content and structure of a 24/7 news operation. This is fast-moving news environment! Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven newsroom allows you to deliver top-quality segments/newscasts. You excel at multi-tasking and pay close attention to details. Your writing and editing skills are excellent and your editorial judgment is first-rate.

Shifts: Weekend mornings, afternoons, overnights - plus opportunities to fill in during weekday shifts.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Format, program, coordinate, and produce a live news program
Produce segments and reporter hits
Manage and maintain clear communication with Reporters, Editors, Assignment desk and Anchors
Keep newscast updated by working on developing stories as the day progresses
Handle staffing issues when managers are not present

**** YOU **** NEED

At least 3-5 years of experience editing all-news radio or producing live breaking news in a television control room
Highly skilled in writing and copy-editing
Ability to handle breaking news situations
Strong editorial judgment is a must
Ability to interact with high-profile talent
A positive attitude and great communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
Knowledge of iNews, ENCO and Adobe Audition (Cool-Edit) a major plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $31.25-37.50 per hour. We provide Freelancers medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Role Accountabilities...

Organizing, transcoding, and transferring *** for session materials (e.g. films and episodes to and from library, shoot footage, etc.)
Creating and preparing projects (gathering, organizing, and importing *** ; creating skeleton sequences for spots)
Pulling selects and creating clip reels
Cutting season premiere campaigns, overflow creative work, bumps, cutdowns, etc.
Creating temp graphics for spots (lower thirds, end pages, etc.)
Prepping projects for color and audio
Versioning spots with different graphics and audio mixes
Prepping projects for delivery and archive
Integrating the use of scopes, audio mixers, and automated processes to QC *** before it is delivered for air and digital
Understanding and executing intricate deliverables for air and digital
Work autonomously when needed - this is part of why knowing our sports properties is a must!
Work effectively in a hybrid remote environment collaborating closely with a team of project managers, producers and editors.

Qualifications & Experiences...

Very skilled in Adobe Premiere and After Effects
Experienced with asset and project management software - namely Strawberry and IPV
Extensive knowledge of sports, internet, social *** , and popular culture.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Thorough understanding of post-production processes and database management
Ability to prep editing material for sessions
Must be able to perform under very tight deadlines
Must be self-motivated, intuitive, and take initiative
Solid customer ser *** skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong communicator, high attention to detail, meticulous organizational skills, excellent time management skills
Previous post-production television experience preferred
