We are looking for a freelance Avid editor available for project work on an as-needed basis. Our company produces a variety of corporate and non-broadcast projects including short-form documentary, promos, and feel good stories. This is NOT a full-time position.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Avid editor with a proven track record in human storytelling or documentary format editing. We are a boutique sized production company that relies on a collaborative approach; demonstrated experience in a similar environment is required.

Responsibilities:
Create A-Roll, rough cuts, and fine cuts independently and in collaboration with producers.
Creatively utilize music and pacing to enhance the story.
Deliver videos with client-friendly audio mixes.
Work in a variety of creative video formats based on the requirements of the individual project.
Identify and execute appropriate editing styles based on specific brand requirements.
Manage progress on multiple projects simultaneously, and be able to quickly transition from one project to another.
Maintain detailed organization of all editorial assets.
Work independently to find creative and technical solutions to post production problems.

Requirements:
At least 5 years experience working with Avid (we use version 8.8.1)
“Technology wizard” – able to troubleshoot any compatibility or format issues
Highly organized and detail-oriented personality
Experience working closely with motion graphics artists.
Working knowledge of After Effects, and Photoshop.

Compensation:
Competitive hourly/daily rate, as determined by project. All freelancers provide a W9 and are paid as independent contractors via invoice. Our payment terms are net 30 or less.
