Independent film. Looking for lead creative collaborator to work with cinematographer and director to create moody 70s style conspiracy thriller.

We seek an experienced and talented Gaffer to join our team for an upcoming video shoot. The Gaffer will be responsible for managing the lighting setup, ensuring that all lighting equipment is properly installed and operated to achieve the desired visual aesthetic.

We will be filming a one day, docu-style commercial for the medicine Fintepla in Waterford, MI. We need a gaffer who can create natural, bright images for a pharma shoot. We also need the gaffer to provide their own equipment, which we would pay a kit rental fee for. The shoot will be on June 15th for a full day.

The range depends both on experience/rates and also cost of kit rentals.

Gaffer needed for a sit-down interview. One subject, two cameras.
One day of pre-light and one shoot day.

Narrative Ads is seeking an experienced and skilled Gaffer to join our production team on a temporary, freelance basis. The Gaffer will be responsible for the lighting design and execution for two studio spaces, ensuring all visual elements are illuminated according to the producer’s vision. This position is scheduled for 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, until June 21, with the possibility of an extension based on project needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in film and television lighting, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
-Collaborate with Narrative Ads production team to determine the lighting requirements for each scene.
-Design and implement lighting setups that enhance the visual storytelling for a wide range of mobile-focused products
-Oversee the setup, adjustment, and maintenance of lighting equipment, including lights, dimmers, and rigging.
-Ensure all lighting equipment is used safely and in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
-Troubleshoot any lighting issues that arise during production and provide quick, effective solutions.
-Maintain clear and open communication with all departments to ensure seamless integration of lighting with other production elements.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Gaffer in film, television, or commercial productions.
Strong technical knowledge of lighting equipment and techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and a creative eye for lighting design, specifically with mobile productions
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including occasional evenings and weekends if required by the production schedule.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.

I’m looking for a gaffer for a commercial shoot 6/5 and 6/6 in the West loop. Our location is a two story (elevator equipped) building with several office spaces and an event space. We’ll be shooting scenes of office workers working with a somewhat dramatic lighting aesthetic.

Looking for someone who can bring their own key grip (same rate), and who also has a 1-2 ton-ish LED-based G&E package (let me know the rate and contents please). It'll just be the two of you on the G&E crew.

Searching for a gaffer to work on a medium-large scale outdoor product shoot for a gardening company. Furthermore our studio is seeking to expand our freelance roster for semi-regular productions over the rest of the year and onwards. This particular project will have a ~12 person crew.

I am seeking a gaffer for 2 half day shoots up to 5hrs max on June 1 at 8am and June 3rd at 6pm. This is for a corporate talking head interview. I am seeking a gaffer to provide 3 point lighting plus green screen preferably 10x10 or larger.

Heaven’s Diner is run by women of color who have taken justice against harassers into their own hands. They hire Lilah to walk down NYC streets at night to scout and bring back male catcallers to the diner. The staff then work together to kill and butcher the men into burgers.

It is important to me to elevate women and non-binary people in filmmaking. As a result, people of color are encouraged to apply.
