****/**** (the *** station in Spokane, WA) has an im *** te opening for a North Idaho Multi-Skilled Journalist to join our great team in the beautiful Inland Northwest.
Be part of something new for **** 2! For the first time, the station's North Idaho reporter will live where they work, with the station about 30 minutes away. By living in North Idaho this MSJ will be connected to the area they cover and help **** 2 extend its coverage/reach into this growing area of the station's market. This is a bureau MSJ position.

Do you want to dig deeper and live ****'s More to Every Story brand? Do you get excited to cover breaking news? Do you thrive on doing active show-and-tell live shots? Are you a digital star who can write dynamic stories and engage with audiences on social *** ? This is a full-time, hourly, union-represented position that reports to the assistant news director.
Responsibilities: -Develop story ideas, write, shoot and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting
-Write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner
-Use the latest editing and photography tools to tell great stories
-Develop original content through social listening and independent sources
-Deliver on-air news coverage in an engaging, exciting and accurate manner
-Interview news subjects and research for facts and credibility
-Write for the web, including attaching images and streaming video
-Use creative production techniques to enhance stories
-Operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations
-Operate Dejeros and present exciting live reports
-Perform other tasks as required by leadership team
Job Requirements:
-Live in North Idaho (Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Rathdrum area)
-Have a home office space that can accommodate the ****-issued gear for work
-Degree in journalism, communications, related field, or comparable experience
-At least 1 year of related work experience required
-Experience in photojournalism, editing and content management systems
-Understanding of the tenants of professional journalism
-Ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots
-Strong social *** skills, including an active newshound presence on Twitter and Facebook
-Knowledge of ENPS, Edius and Axis graphics preferred
-Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines
-Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
-Ability to come work out of the station in Spokane occasionally/as needed for reporting shifts, trainings, all station meetings, etc.
-Ability to work mornings, night and/or weekend shifts
-Ability to be in on-call MSJ/Photojournalist rotation
Compensation Range: $20/hr to $22.60/hr based on experience
