Responsibilities:

• Use the latest editing and photography tools to tell great stories, including but not limited to Edius and Adobe Products
• Produce original content on-air and on all digital platforms that evoke emotion and tell compelling stories
• Write and post daily on all digital platforms including attaching images and streaming video. Must include Social ***

Requirements:

• Current driver's license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations
• BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field
• 2-5 years of experience preferred in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
• Proven ability to generate creative, engaging, content-driven live shots
• Demonstrated social *** proficiency, especially in the field, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook
• Member and active participant in NPPA preferred

We are seeking an experienced Post Production professional to help manage both internal and third party productions, inclusive of a wide range of LIVE programming such as large tent pole variety events, award shows, comedy formats, sports, unscripted, and more. This role will serve as a network touch point ensuring our external producing partners are effectively onboarded, supported, and assessed for our post production workflows. Responsibilities include supporting the Post Production leads, establishing and curating vendor & staff/crew relations, managing document distribution & communication flow, liaising with internal cross-functional teams, and supporting/suggesting best practices from pre production through delivery while working with production companies. This position will report to a Director of Live Post Production and will be based out of the *** offices in Los Angeles, CA.

The Role

A successful candidate will be passionate and deeply knowledgeable about post production planning, management, logistics and have LIVE or live to tape post production experience on programming that has aired or streamed on major platforms, such as networks or large scale streaming platforms. They will be self-motivated, flexible, thorough, and capable of juggling multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization, communication, and unwavering attention to detail at all times. A priority to learn is key, as the LIVE slate is ever changing and requires the education of new technologies and practices within production and post production.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support the post partners through various processes during the setup and execution of the project such as guidance on vendors, disseminating information to the studio, and uploading deliverable materials
• Liaise with the post production vendors to ensure they are on-boarded and trained to lean on our various tools and *** workflows (e.g tools for cut reviews, delivery of AV deliverables)
• Audit completion/delivery of post production materials during pre, production, and wrap
• Gather, track and enter various production and post production related data among multiple platforms
• Build agendas, participate in or lead tech kick-offs and ongoing production/post production meetings for all LIVE productions
• Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Publicity, Photo/AV Studio, Safety, Sustainability, and Events regarding on-location activities taking place during a LIVE broadcast
• Collaborate effectively with internal operations & technical teams as well as other production associate managers to streamline workflows across all apps and content teams
• Assist with identification and curation of experienced, high quality post production staff and crew
• Participate in *** a testing proprietary apps while offering constructive feedback about the end user experience

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience working in post production management at a network, production company, or vendor. The ideal candidate also has LIVE post production experience with programming that has aired or streamed on a major platform such as networks or large scale streaming platforms. Candidates will need to be at least a Post Production Supervisor level equivalent outside of *** .
• Ability to handle a fast paced and high performance environment and a high volume of projects and courage to take educated risks while thinking outside the box while always responding in a timely manner

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. All positions are for college credit only, up to 16 hours per week, and usually last 8 to 12 weeks.

Job Description

The Script Applications Coordinator is responsible for the breakdown of scripts into the script applications system (Accion) to create a database that provides the necessary information and updated statistics for the preparation of the Daily Production Plans and weekly goals.

Job Duties:

• Reads and analyzes the script(s) in an effort to breakdown the story and identify scene by scene the characters, locations, day of the story, interiors/exteriors, props, etc.
• Inputs all information obtained from the script into the script application system, Accion, and makes the necessary modifications and changes to ensure continuity in the story.
• Creates summary content reports of each chapter of the project for the Executive Producer and the Sales Department.
• Provides the producers with all necessary reports for production meetings such as chapter status, minutes produced, scripts received, etc.
• Responsible for photocopying final scripts and Daily Production Plans for all departments as well as for the talent.
• Works under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
• Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of *** *** ' infrastructure and adheres to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures.
• Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment.
• Presents ideas that support EHS goals and policies to your business or EHS leader.
• Raises concerns about possible violations of EHS policies to your manager, business and EHS Leader.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the production of novelas/soap operas.

Job Description

The Script Supervisor is responsible for maintaining all details of the shooting script in a form and style which clearly reflect the production filming process. The Script Supervisor is also responsible for informing and indicating to the Director and Editor any modifications made to the script.

Job Duties:

• Reads and analyzes the script in an effort to prepare the script pages to facilitate the necessary modifications, annotations, and production notes.
• Provides an updated and detailed shooting script with all pre-production modifications to Director and Editor.
• Maintains an accurate record of all changes in dialogue and action during production.
• Ensures consistency and continuity of wardrobe, make up, set dressing and props in scenes that require multiple shooting sessions.
• Maintains an accurate record of all items used in a shooting (props, wardrobe, sets etc.) and notes the condition of each item after each take.
• Takes pictures of actors and sets for the purpose of recording prop, wardrobe and actor positions and condition at the beginning and/or end of a take.
• Maintains an accurate record of all scene numbers and identifies the scenes that were approved by the Director to proceed to printing.
• Records and maintains a time log for all rehearsals and takes.
• Informs the Director of any scheduled scenes on the shoot list that were omitted or incomplete at the close of each day and ensures the missing scenes are included in the shooting schedule for the following day.
• Monitors and keeps all actors informed/updated on plot development to ensure continuity of acting for the dramatic situation.
• Creates a daily production report that demonstrates total shooting time, each scene type, call time, lunch hour, wrap hour, incidents during the shoot, and incomplete/pending scheduled scenes.
• Responsible for the transportation and return of daily tapes used for each shoot.
• Prepares a final draft of the shooting script, includes all script notes, take records, scene changes, sketches, photos, comments, additions, omissions, and deletions, and delivers it to Director, General Producer, and Editors.
• Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of *** *** ' infrastructure and adheres to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures.
• Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment.

*** Universal is looking for a Manager of Asset Operations to manage the day-to-day operations and personnel for the New York Asset Center.

In this role, you are responsible for overseeing and improving upon the daily activities and administrative functions that relates to the Asset Center personnel and processes. You will partner closely with internal teams, productions, and other customers as the subject matter expert able to advise on all asset questions and processes. You will focus on identifying efficiencies and opportunities to enhance our client's experience and long-term initiatives that contribute to the advancement of our organization and financial health.

What You'll Do:

• Coordinate and manage daily activities of the New York Asset Center, including scheduling, crewing, budgeting, purchasing, trucking needs, equipment rentals, and timecards.
• Oversee office administration functions including customer onboarding, order processing, invoicing/billing, client deals/discounts, credit approvals, dispute resolution, vendor relations, out-of-state shipping, monthly accounting close, etc.
• Manage union department heads across the facility to ensure they are working in alignment with current business strategies.
• Assist with personnel issues within the department, including performance evaluations, approval for overtime, timekeeping, vacation requests, disciplinary actions, and other related issues.
• Research, document, and implement continual improvements to operational processes, systems, safety, and departmental policies.
• Provide operational support including but not limited to: PCard suspension issues, facilities maintenance/CapEx approvals, coordinating continuous returns of IT assets, disposal of confidential production finance documents, and intercepting physical mail for processing.
• Oversee asset processing: acquisition, cataloging, barcoding, inventorying, merchandising, decommissioning, and liquidation.
• Measure and report rental inventory utilization; provide sound recommendations around asset acquisition, liquidation, and merchandising based on category, period, location, and other attributes.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
• Manage offsite and onsite storage facilities for Asset Centers.
• Work with production accountants, line producers, and UPMs, along with Universal Television Finance and Production Executives, to ensure studio procedures are followed.
• Work closely with production accounting to reconcile vendor billing that cannot be automated in Basware.
• Maintain Asset Center website with set portfolios and scale to include inventory at-large with the help of department leads on-site.
• Manage operational charges for the production teams, including labor and storage rentals.
• Act as a liaison *** ween show production management, finance, and production accountants.
• Support ongoing operational requirements as directed by senior management.
• Meet with executives, producers, and other production team members to discuss project/show needs.
• Communicate with production accountants to validate rates to align to their overall production budgets, along with researching/fixing any billing discrepancies.

Please include in your application a one-page cover letter describing your interest, expected benefits, the type of internship/position/department you seek, the semester you're applying for, and the length of time you would like for your internship.

Along with your cover letter and resume, to be considered for the internship you must be able to provide documentation from your academic adviser that if selected, you will receive academic credit for completion of your internship.

Brief information regarding available Internships:

Lifestyle Show - Students will work alongside producers to plan and prep a Monday - Friday lifestyle and entertainment show. Duties to include writing scripts; researching local businesses; confirming guest appearances and information; prop set up and take down. Work to shut down after each show includes striking the set of props and kitchen cleanup. Assist with promotional events outside the station. Ability to multi-task; good communication skills are a must.

News - These positions require a writing background, journalism majors preferred. Students will work alongside and shadow the Assignment Desk, Weather, Photographers/Editors, and Reporters/Anchors. Applicants must have exceptional English and grammar skills and an eye for detail.

Digital *** - Students will learn to write for all forms of digital *** . Produce and post multi *** stories about the Portland Metro Area; Create Facebook posts/Tweets promoting coverage; Assist in operating a dynamic website with regular updates as well as constantly emerging content. Needed: Writing/editing courses completed; Working knowledge of WordPress, CMS, social *** platforms; Passion for telling local stories

Promotions - Students will assist in the creation and coordination of marketing and promotional activities. Must be creative, organized, and detailed oriented. Must be able to work with others in a fast-paced environment. Must be a problem solver, dependable, hard-working and creative. Interns must maintain flexible availability. Must be able to assist staff at station sponsored functions, which can include weekends and holidays.

Sports Interns - Students will write, shoot, edit for sports reports in newscasts. Interns will learn the day-to-day operations of a sports dept. TV Production courses completed and working knowledge of AVID, Final Cut, ADOBE Creative Suites, to name a few is preferred

Sales - Students will learn phone etiquette and presentation skills and the importance of interaction *** ween advertisers and the television station. Students may also work on creating sales presentations and gain an overall understanding of the sales process. Students should be outgoing and professional.

Programming/Production - Students will learn the dub and digital editing process of commercials. Students may also be asked to produce commercials. Assist on-air talents with board operation, taking phone requests and general administrative support. Applicants must be detail oriented.

The Internship is related to an educational purpose and there is no guarantee or expectation that the activity will result in employment with the Company. The education received by the Intern from the internship is for express benefit of the Intern. The Intern does not replace or displace any employee of the Company. The Intern will receive direct and close supervision by an appropriate supervisor. This is an unpaid Internship and the Intern is not entitled to wages or any compensation or benefits for the time spent in the internship. We do not provide paid parking. Company is not liable for injury sustained or health conditions that may arise for the unpaid intern during the internship.
