**** *** 13 in Houston is looking for an Executive Producer for our growing 24/7 streaming channel and live content distribution touch points.
What You Will Do:
Areas of focus will be managing our streaming news channel along with producing and managing any and all live content.
We're looking for a driven journalist who understands the changing needs of our audience on a minute-by-minute basis and is able to pivot to respond. Whether it's for breaking weather or traffic, big breaking news or important investigative work, we are a news-first organization that produces 13 live hours of news a day with hard-hitting information and very little fluff.
The right candidate has a high attention to detail, understanding the nuances of every element we stream or broadcast and has a high technical skill to manage and regularly operate our newsroom production system, alongside our producer/anchors. This manager must also have experience in the hands-on training of those who produce and anchor live streaming newscasts with limited resources.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Ability to make quick, strategic decisions, along with close collaboration with the other newsroom and station leaders.
- Having a strong, thoughtful but compassionate voice when making decisions with our team is a requirement.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Top 10 market with day-to-day operations, production and leadership of local news streaming products.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent work experience.
