Angel Magaña

I actually started this production as Best boy grip, but when their Camera Operator was fired, they chose me to be the Camera Operator. As a camera operator, my job was to be on camera making sure the shots were well composed and I had to get what the DP wanted so communication was essential.

As best boy grip I had to help the Key grip run the crew. When the Key grip wasn't there to answer the grips important questions, then I would step up and guide them to what needed to happen to make the film run smoothly.

As Camera operator for this live event, I had to listen to the director to make sure I heard what he needed me to capture on camera. When the director wasn't telling me what he wanted, I had free range to do what I wanted so I made sure I had a well composed shot for safety, just in case he needed to switch cameras.

As a grip I basically had set up the lights that were going to be up and had to rig lights up on the set walls. Alongside with that, when I wasn't doing anything, I would do a walk around and make sure everything was organized. Keeping safety always in mind.
