Blake Everhart

"In the Valley of Sin" is a true-crime docuseries consisting of six episodes. Blake was responsible for editing episode 5, the series' climax. As the sole editor responsible for episode 5, Blake also took on additional editing in other episodes.

As the Associate Producer, I managed the daily operations of the project from pre-production to delivery. In pre-production, I designed the project's comprehensive workflow and ensured that all departments would be able to collaborate and function smoothly. In the field, I collaborated with the director to produce content and interviews that contributed to the film's narrative. I supervised the editorial team and was the contact point for the network when presenting all edits and deliverables. Additionally, I was credited as an Editor, Post-production Supervisor, and GFX artist.

As an Editor, I crafted the film's third act called "Rise of the Robots" which USA Today called "The best chapter in the documentary". On this type of project with no script, the editorial responsibilities included crafting a compelling narrative as well as creating a fluid and engaging visual experience.

With multiple production teams around the world creating high volumes of multilingual content, I lead the project's team of assistant editors as we took on the responsibility of ingesting, staging, and assembling the five episode series. I also helped build the team responsible for licensing all archival and sports footage and worked closely with them to ensure their ability to track and license all of the footage on time. With an immovable primetime air date on Fox network, I maximized the efficiency of my department which was essential to the success of the production as a whole.
