Working with director and story team to understand targeted assets for each story beat. Negotiating rates for all third party material. Communicating with production legal council that language in all agreements are acceptable so to be licensed for broadcast and tracking red line changes between parties. Responsible for tracking for all assets in each cut, assigning P.O.'s., and once locked - working with accounting for payment. Also, working with the post team to complete EDLs for master grids, overseeing string outs for approvals, the procuring of masters for final edits, and completing any necessary order forms. In charge of making sure also person on camera are identified and that their releases are completed properly and on file, as well as any location releases, and material releases. Also, working with the production's fair use attorney to flag any problematic logos, images, individuals on camera. Other duties include notes to producers after each cut for any potential red flags, releases needed, or blurred that need to be added.
