Dean Bruce was the director of photography on my short film Luna, which I wrote and directed. I worked closely with Dean throughout the process, including in pre- and post-production. He was always ready to be contacted and was incredibly flexible wh ...MORE...
en it came to ideas about how the movie would be filmed and the choices we'd make. When I told him in pre-production that I wanted the film to be handheld, he provided me a shoulder rig. Whenever I expressed how I wanted a shot to look, he already had a lens ready just for that. On set, when I told him I didn't like a shot, he'd make one 1000x better. His work on Luna allowed me to focus more on story and actors; I knew I could trust Dean behind the camera. Not only is he a talented photographer and cinematographer, but Dean is a hard worker who cares about his work and cares about making a product that he can be proud to put his name on. In large part to his wonderful work, Luna was a 2017 Official Selection of the All American High School Film Festival, San Antonio Film Festival, and Knoxville Film Festival.
