"Tacos" was originally an assignment given to me by a digital company after they offered me a directing fellowship. It had to be about a minute long, link to my identity, and end with a message for the audience to take away. I made the decision to base my story on an old proverb that my grandfather would recite whenever times got challenging. In order to communicate a tale clearly and simply, I wanted to return to the style of classic silent movies, particularly those starring Buster Keaton. I also had a 72-hour turnaround, so I had to keep the production tight and concise.
So, in typical Buster Keaton fashion, I wrote, directed, and acted in the piece. I would have done my own stunts, but "Tacos" is a stunt-free story. Maybe next time I'll tell a more physical tale.

I wrote "Snapshot" for my senior thesis in film school. I was intrigued by the challenge of telling a monologue-free, single-location tale. I created the entire story in a photo booth since I knew my team and I would have complete control over its layout, design, lighting, and size. I wanted to create a piece that starkly opposed everything I had learned in film school.
My editor and I determined during post-production that the picture played better with no dialogue except for the concluding remark before going black. We chose to emphasize the awkwardness and silence, which, in our opinion, heightened the character's frustrations, which were subsequently mirrored in the cuts. This was a lot of fun to make. Maybe someday I'll come back to these concepts and aesthetics.

I wrote, directed, and produced this psychological short film. This was developed during Production Workshop 3, which is one of the thesis classes in film school. Like any school production, I had to create the project from the bottom up, recruit my cast and crew, keep a schedule, and ensure the project was shot and completed in time to turn in. I was awarded an "A" for this project.

"Life Line" was my first "official" college short film. This was a passion project for me and my team. With the support of my writing team and my actor roommate at the time, I was able to develop the concept into a short film. Once the script was in place, the process was efficient and quick.
We shot the film over the course of a weekend and spent a few weeks in post-production figuring out the nuance and intricacies of how to deliver the finished piece. I'm proud of the finished product because it provides a wonderful showcase for everyone who was involved. The actors demonstrate their skills, the cinematography is understated, the directing is effective yet straightforward, and the scene writing is strong. People wanted more after seeing the video everywhere we showed it, and that was the nicest compliment we could have received.
