Matthew Halterman

I was responsible for co-writing the script, I was location manager, and I served as assistant director. We won 6 awards at the Austin, TX festival: best screenplay, best acting (male and female), best choreography, best use of assigned prop, best use of assigned line, and runner up for best film.

I was involved at every step of production, from script to final edit, and stayed on schedule. I obtained locations, talent releases and I navigated a small crew through Mexico City. I got permission for archival footage and music rights from Cambodia. We submitted and played multiple to film festivals, including in Cambodia.

My responsibilities consisted of updating Outfest's social media and homepage profiles, updating festival events, filmmakers and films. I put together the budget for the director of operations. I helped a production team gather interviews from filmmakers and guests about their Outfest experiences, as this was the 30-year anniversary.

I was the assistant to the producer and my job mainly consisted of organizing and keeping him on schedule. I took care of his personal errands, provided transportation, directed his calls and e-mails, and efficiently prioritized his day.

I helped with lighting, set-up, and breakdown of each scene. I also got lunch and wrangled talent together.
