1. Collaborate with the director of photography (DP) to determine the lighting requirements for each scene. 2. Plan and design the lighting setup for each shot, which may involve selecting and positioning lights, setting up diffusion materials, and adjusting light intensity and color temperature. 3. Install and operate lighting equipment, such as lights, dimmers, and generators. 4. Manage the lighting crew, which may include electricians, riggers, and best boys. 5. Ensure that all lighting equipment is properly rigged and secured to prevent accidents on set. 6. Continuously monitor the lighting during filming and make adjustments as needed to maintain consistency and quality. 7. Work with the DP and camera crew to achieve the desired visual style and mood for each scene. 8. Manage the budget for lighting equipment and supplies, and order additional items as needed. 9. Troubleshoot lighting issues, such as power outages or faulty equipment, to minimize delays during filming. 10. Ensure that all lighting equipment is properly stored and maintained between shoots.
