Seth Andrews

As a founding member of HuffPost Live (HuffPost’s digital streaming network), I developed and implemented more than 500 segments in a wide range of categories – world news, politics, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, business, and tech. Formats varied from live interviews with A-list celebrities, musicians and athletes to polarized conversations about hot-button topics to breaking news. I was tasked typically with two segments daily, so responsibilities included pitching, researching, booking guests, writing detailed story guide, compiling teleprompter script, briefing the host, fact-checking and managing a team of associate producers and production assistants. The goal always being traffic, my stories were frequently top performers and picked up by AOL.com. I produced two five-part, 30-minute series (“The War On Drugs In America” and “Education In America”) plus month-long series on the 2014 World Cup and 2014 March Madness. Nominated for Emmy Awards for 5 segments I produced in 2014.

I produced investigative and consumer advocacy segments titled “Help Me Howard” for the ten o’clock newscast. Pitched, researched and developed all stories. Worked with Tribune Legal Department to ensure every story that went to air was accurate within the laws and practices that impact investigative/consumer reporting. Conducted interviews and directed the filming of stories. Oversaw all aspects of editing and writing for each segment. Won an Excellence in Journalism Emmy Award for the segment.
