As Senior Producer at The Root, one of the largest online platforms for Black news and commentary, I managed the site’s video team and help craft the editorial vision of our video content. During my time as Senior Producer, I led the production of projects like our award-winning series "A King’s Place," which examined social justice issues across various streets named for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. around the country. I also worked closely with editorial writers and have produced series like "Eyes on 2020," in which the site’s senior political writer sat down with 10 individual Democratic candidates in the 2020 presidential race. Other notable series work includes explainer series "Unpack That," hosted by Felice León and video op-ed series "A Word," where we broke a touching and personal story about Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley’s experience with alopecia. This episode garnered over 3 million views on Twitter within three days of publication and nationwide coverage.
