I was a video journalist for RNZ News (New Zealand’s public broadcaster) where I would produce all my own videos from start to finish, researching, planning, filming, editing (Premiere Pro & FCP) and of course I can take engaging photos. Day in day out I was working under tight deadline, always filing no matter how remote the location. For the last two years I’ve been an integral part of RNZ as it’s transitioned to a multi-media platform company. I was the first video journalist employed by RNZ and was in charge of building its video presence and then training radio journalists to become visual journalists. I was also a key member in the launch of New Zealand’s first radio simulcast, where I was responsible for visual studio production, field logistics, live streaming and staff training.
