My research centered on creating a voice for a Civil War era surgeon's surgical saw and kit. By using artifacts from the Loyola Marymount University archives, I told a Civil War narrative that is commonly glanced over. The project presented the Civil War surgeon's experience and contributions to medical knowledge of the period, as well as the many sacrifices.

I conducted an individual comparative analysis project. The focus of the research compared and contrasted initiatives taken by the cities of Los Angeles and San Francisco during the Influenza Epidemic of 1918. I had to search for different collections, archives, and historical societies in order to survey the many documents, newspapers, diaries and other media. I worked with collections from the UCLA Young Research Library, the UCLA Biomedical Library, and the Los Angeles City Archives.
