I was contracted for one month by Lionbridge to film interviews with multiple participants each day, sometimes up to 15, for data to aid in the creation of Deepfake Video detection software. The interviews were with paid participants and the majority of the work was setting up the camera for different angles and trying to make the participants as comfortable as possible so they could speak naturally on a given topic for about 15 minutes. This was a freelance job for the Film Society, throughout the duration of the Film Festival. In addition to unloading and setting up most of the venues for the festival as a team we set up Step and Repeat trusses, sometimes once a day, and Pipe and Drape. As a lighting technician I designed and set up the lighting for the main hub of the festival as well as multiple venues for the red carpets and parties afterwards. • Supervise and coordinate the work of camera, lighting, design, and sound crewmembers. • Plan details such as framing, composition, camera movement, sound, and actor movement for each shot or scene. • Confer with technical directors, managers, crew members, and writers to discuss details of production, such as photography, script, music, sets, and costumes. • Compile cue words and phrases, and cue announcers, cast members, and technicians during performances. • Identify and approve equipment and elements required for productions, such as scenery, lights, props, costumes, choreography, and music. • Study and research scripts to determine how they should be directed. • Interpret stage-set diagrams to determine stage layouts, and supervise placement of equipment and scenery.
