This short art film is inspired by European art of the 17th and 18th centuries that depicted the Ottoman Harems as subject only of male fantasies thus perpetuating the image of the Oriental women as an embodiment of mystery, suppression and of sexual license. This film aims to subtly critique this Western male gaze by recreating harem portraits for camera in which the artificiality of the set and real emotion behind each woman's posed expression is gradually revealed.

Lake Effect has aired on five PBS Stations and screened at three festivals as well as the Vermont State House, accompanied by a public forum and Q&A hosted by Lt. Governor Zuckerman and the House Committee on Natural Resources, Fish and Wildlife.

Co-producer for a comedic short in which the main character spirals into a world of film noir fantasy as everyone around him sees only the grim realities of his messy life. Premiered at the NYC Shorts International Film Festival in June 2019.
