I was a Casting Producer for 22 seasons. I was responsible for finding amazing reality competition contestants by filtering through online submissions, recruiting both online and in person, vetting, interviewing, checking backgrounds, working finals and making sure we found "stars" who would be great on Survivor. I pitched contestant videos/applications to the rest of the team and input with casting team on final selections. I sat in on skypes with head of production as he interviewed our top selections before inviting them to finals. I worked finals ensuring smooth execution for executive interviews. We helped applicants prepare, relax and get hyped for in person interviews with executives, go through medical and psychological testing and everything required during the week to ultimately get them cast on the show. Casting Producers were ultimately responsible for contestant performance and compliance at finals and protecting confidentiality of applicants identities. I sat in on executive and producer interviews and answered questions and gave information as needed.

I was responsible for the "non- jury" cast until filming was complete. I travelled with them through a neighboring country to the one we were filming in. I was responsible for their safety as well as keeping them from being discovered. They were not allowed to be on the internet, contact anyone from home or tell locals their real names or why they were there. I planned 3 week vacations and activities to keep them entertained and occupied while they waited to go home. I took them to hospitals and gave them medications to deal with medical issues that arose while playing the game. I was responsible for giving them per diem, controlling their passports, checking into hotels, transportation, getting them through airports etc. I acted as their boss, friend, psychiatrist, doctor, referee, mom and overall caretaker for the trip. I wrote reports of our progress and interacted with production and security on logistics and problems.
