Thom Mount had optioned an Australian screenplay called Nine Miles Down and I was hired to rewrite it for John Carpenter to direct. Carpenter left the project to direct Escape From LA and the project went into turn around.

Universal pictures hired me to rewrite a screenplay John Carpenter was slated to direct. Since I was the third writer in and after the director I received no screen credit but mine is the draft that was filmed.

I created a story to introduce Intel's Pentium chip to the technological press. THE JOURNEY INSIDE is an IMAX film that both spoofs and pays homage to the sci-fi B movies of the past while it displayed Intel's technological genius. It was an Award winner at the New York Festival.

To write To Be An Astronaut I spent time at NASA's Houston Space Center interviewing astronauts, technicians and administrators. I immersed myself in astronaut training and worked to see through the eyes of astronauts in training. The 70mm film plays at the Space Center.

I wrote and directed Worldsong, the centerpiece of the USA Pavilion at EXPO '92. It presented an inclusive and humane image for the United States that reminded people (without spoken language) that all humans share simple, daily experiences that bind us all together. Nina Jacobson, then head of development at Universal, hired me to adapt the novel Captain Blood into a screenplay. They liked my work and were moving ahead with revisions when Matsushita bought the studio and killed the project.

GM needed to turn their company's image around. I took the pulse of employees from CEO Roger Smith on down to the line and all of the innovators and designers in between. T&T played on the world's largest video wall, the centerpiece for an extravaganza in the Waldorf Astoria.

Universal purchased a screenplay I'd written with Mark Krenzien and we were moving ahead through revisions when the WGA strike of 1987 occurred. By the time the strike ended the head of development, had left the company and the project went into turn around.

I wrote and directed. Northrop Corporation wanted to illustrate the concept of “Systems Engineering.” I was able to create a filmic metaphor to illustrate these non-visual abstract concepts by comparing Zubin Mehta conducting an orchestra with Northrop's design team and engineers creating aircraft.

I'm lumping together many individual segments I field produced for MTV between 1981 and 1985 including segments on Tina Turner, REM, Amy Grant, The Bangles, Tony Perkins Halloween Special, Billy Crystal, The US Festival with Van Halen, Def Leppard, Pretenders, Scorpion, etc. I ran crews, locations, did the interviews and supervised post.

I was the director, field producer, interviewer on this ABC one hour news special documentary hosted by Gabe Kaplan focused on the "Nation at Risk" report on American Education. I took video crews around the country (NYC, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Knoxville), directed production and post-production.

Associate producer, writer and segment producer for Nickelodeon's first series. I managed budgets, signed talent, wrote contracts, booked locations and oversaw production. I was part of a writing team that included Duck's Breath Mystery Theater and Bob Hughes. I took crews around the country to shoot individual segments.

Free-lanced for Los Angeles' premiere local reality show field producing segments with the staff crew and editorial department on subjects as varied as Gigolos, Crop Dusters and Beauty Queen talent agents.

I wrote, researched, shot and segment produced for Showtime's pioneering foray into reality television. From the pilot and through three seasons we pushed the boundaries of conventional television in subject matter, language and nudity as we explored the strangest subcultures in America.

Wrote the introductions, transitions and some material for Showtime's down and dirty "spend-a-day-with-a-Stand-Up-Comedian" concept show that culminated in the stage performance. Much of what we did were ad lib situations in the field or comedians' homes. Comedians included: Billy Crystal, Sandra Bernhard, Steve Mittleman, Ellen DeGeneres and Dana Carvey.
