Over the years I have ran the gammut of duties. I have done everything from picking up gear from rental houses and leveling generators to gaffing videos. Making up impromptu lighting rigs: check! pushing through tough schedules and unforgiving circumstances: check! Keeping my mouth shut with [passionate] people: begrudgingly check.
Summary
I like coffee, electricity, and steel.

After focusing a scene, I often jumped to the next scene laying the groundwork with the little remaining gear so that production could shoot again as soon as possible. I rigged car lighting, dropped and secured waterfalls, laid power distrobution, rigged lighting in high traffic areas, and packed trucks.

Electrician (Set and Rigging Swing) – My Many Sons

Fulfilling both Rigging and Set Swing duties took multitasking and forethought. I layed power distrobution, dropped and secured waterfalls, placed and focused lights on roof-tops, worked in senstive areas, laid and leveling dolly track, assisted camera.

More 4/O, but this time it was mostly in the studio. Like the previous season, I laid power distrobution and rigged lights into the hanging grid as well as redress the 'concert' lighting on the studio stage.

Grip – Rays of Light
Film (Feature-length) — Camellia Entertainment Details

I supported my Best and Key by anticipating needs of the for current and upcoming scenes. Building a flyswatter, laying and leveling track, blacking out windows, relaying equipment from staging to set quickly, quietly, and efficiently. All in all, being a proper grip-ninja.

I spent a lot of time 120' in the air, living in my little condor cage tweaking a couple pars and an HMI, but while groundside I assisted the gaffer in setting and focusing lights as well as laying power distrobution.

I dropped 4/O cable. I dropped so much 4/O cable that I thought it was normal. Everyone did it, right? There are few places in Nashville that I haven't dropped 4/O cable now. Studios, bars, churches, homes, alleys, streets, clubs, stores; all have experienced the blight of my copper loom.
