My mother, who passed away in July 2019, had sent me text messages nearly every day about how she was being remote-neural monitored. She was a heavy drug user, which hypothetically may have been the cause of her thoughts. She was extremely passionate about the subject, studying the topic for hours a day. In honor of her, I wanted her to finally be right.

I wanted to build a home with strong foundations. To hang an olive leaf so we don't feel distant. And I got lost in a forest of questions. The heart feels rusty looking for answers. A young girl approached me with a script she had. She aspired to be a filmmaker. After reading the script, I knew there was a lot missing in order to produce it. I was hesitant to take on the challenge at first, knowing the topic may be difficult to portray appropriately. I knew I was not going to let a challenge stop me. I used this as a learning opportunity to teach her the power of screenwriting. This is what we ultimately came up with.

Coordinated very complicated travel up the East Coast of the United States. Maintained and tracked production budget. In charge of recruiting talent. Worked with various vendors to ensure needed materials arrived to the correct locations on time.

I will never forget this project. Definitely one of the craziest things I have ever done. A producer from FILMAM calls me up and says "Paisley, 30 people are traveling to 30 cities in 5 days with 3 RVs to interview hundreds of filmmakers, you in?" Everything about this plan sounded like a nightmare ... I said yes. I love a nightmare once in a while. Needless to say, this journey up the east coast was a production feat... I could probably write chapters about the stories. However, I learned more than I ever have about leadership and extreme production and travel management.

Drawing from the dry humor of my favorite TV series, 'The Office', I was inspired to write a script in an office environment that involved a not-so-common star: a janitor. After writing an array of sappy dramas, it was time to lighten the mood with this short, which is purposefully not for everyone!

I have learned that, in order to be an effective director, it is important to know all realms of a film production. Needless to say, when my close friend asked me to act in his film, I took up the opportunity to learn more about character development. I have acted in over twenty-five film productions, but acting in one that I also produced made it extra special.

Growing up, I always thought I would be a professional singer or musician. One thing I love about film making is that I am able to bring that passion along. I love scoring films, and when I was asked by the lead composer to help out, I was keen. I feel like my voice fits the theme.
