Supervised story editors through stringout phase on various episodes; supervised multiple editors through picture lock. Wrote questions and answers for comedic interviews.

Tracked and developed story in the field, including interview questions (and conducting some interviews) for each member of the subject families; in post, built episodes with dedicated editors, responded to network and EP notes, through delivery of picture lock, and ancillary deliverables.

Pre-production only: Helped EPs determine the nature of this hybrid show - part hi-tek cooking format, part follow doc; assisted in selection of secondary cast members; conducted principal cast interviews; worked with field producers to shape initial episodes around docu story beats.

This HBO special spun off of our 2008 BNV mini-series. Interviewed poets, celebrity judges and hosts during and following the National Slam Finals; worked with EP to condense hours of competition into one hour of poetry, scoring and discussion. Wove in stories of competing teams and the week-long BNV festival.

From pitch document to final deliverables, helped create this follow doc, then re-create it when principals dropped out, and focus changed. Conducted all interviews, supervised all episodes on paper and in the bays.

For season two of this huge hit, we did a lot of pre-production, from which my team and I mapped out each episode, shaping and refining through daily contact with field teams. In post, I supervised episodes, conducted all post production interviews, and as responsible for all series story deliverables.

Because of hair-raising deadlines and big production obstacles, post and production were almost concurrent. I received and reviewed footage, shaping the season on the fly through intense daily contact with field teams, rapidly turning around episodes. Despite all odds, the show became an immense hit for BET.

Working with the EP and editor, I helped craft this heart-pounding conclusion to the week-long Brave New Voices national slam competition. The exciting and unpredictable finale to our mini-series featured footage from the live show, combined with interviews from coaches and poets, intercut with the poetry, itself.

Following six teams of teen poets from local competitions to the grand slam finals in Washington, DC, BNV tracked the competition, as well as the drama within teams -- from the streets of NY City to the beaches of Hawaii; including stories of homelessness, Sickle Cell Anemia and bi-polar disorder.
