"The Road to..." is a behind the scenes look at an athletic competition incorporating interviews, game film and b-roll to convey an inspiring message. I've hired videographers, conducted interviews with over 100 athletes, setup lights, sync'd timecode, utilized drones along with edited each episode. This series follows multiple schools, teams and tells a variety of stories. Multiple cameras have been incorporated into the series including a Red Komodo, Sony FX6, Panasonic GH5 and Zcam E2S6 along with a Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic 3 drones. All episodes are filmed in 4K at 24fps or in various slow motions speeds such as 48, 60, 72, 75 and 120 fps depending on the camera. Each camera is set to a log profile for editing and grading. This series has over 100 episodes so far featuring 11 high schools, 1 college and 30+ athletic programs. Musical accompaniments are chosen from Premium Beat and artlist.io.

Hire and produce a budget for the film shoot and crew (Sound Recordist and Grip). Work with in-house producer and editor for filming instructions and parameters to meet their needs. Used a 2 camera setup for interviews (Red Komodo and Zcam E2S6). Shot in log formats for both cameras at 23.98. Setup and adjust lights (Aputure 300x, 60x and Nanlite Pavotubes II 30c) in a mixed lighting scenario. Provide instruction to talent and crew as far as filming parameters and interviewing instructions. Welcomed feedback from crew in regards to lights and further interview instructions as well. Sync'd cameras via tentacles. Interviewed talent on camera for a-roll and provided instruction for b-roll content that I also filmed. Adjusted cameras accordingly via white balance, lenses, filters and camera placement. Offloaded media using ShotPut Pro. Shipped deliverables to client.

Multiple day shoot. Setup cameras (Sony FX6, Sony FX3), lights (Aputure 600D) on an extended boom arm with an Aputure Light Dome to light all of the talent and guests and placed tripods (Sachtler) for interviews. Update DJI Mavic 3 Cine drone. For a walk and talk segment, I followed main talent around in a variety of lighting situations and rooms as the master wide shot on a 16-35mm Sony G master lens on an FX6. Adjusted f stop and ND filters throughout the various settings. For sit down interviews I provided single camera coverage on talent following their movements.

Work closely with marketing director and CEO on the company's vision. Setup lights, flags, mics and camera for interviews with 11 staff members in a variety of settings and lighting conditions. Utilize drones and dana dolly for b-roll of exterior and interior shots of their new corporate building. Setup and instruct employees for "scene work b-roll" to simulate a live working situation. Edit a variety of videos for internal employees and investors to provide insight into where Biodesix is going as a company for their future growth and intentions while highlighting their new facility. Hired an audio mixer to adjust audio for the final edit deliverable.

Collaborate with Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Director on vision and implementation for 2 videos. Secure location for for filming. Setup camera and choose the lens for the interview. Mic talent. Advise talent on how to answer questions and where to direct their eyes. Utilize b-roll from previous filmed content to cover A-roll in editing. Used music from Premium Beat. Edited and delivered 1 30 second commercial and a second 90 second commercial that is to be aired on IHSA streaming platforms and in person events.

Interviewed over 15 people from players to coaches that helped provide insight into winning back to back state championships in softball. Setup lav mic on talent utilizing Sanken COS 11D with a tentacle sync track e, captured A-roll and B-roll with the Red Komodo in a variety of frame rates. Incorporated footage of game film taken from administrators, family members, athletes and from other resources to help supplement A-roll where I wasn't present to film. Filmed at 24FPS for A-Roll in 4k 17:9 and b-roll at 48 or 60FPS in 4K at 17:9. Occasionally utilized 6K 24FPS at 17:9. Used various lenses for filming scenarios and setups while primarily filming on a DZO Pictor Zoom 50-125 and occasionally Rokinon Cine DS lenses at 24 and 35mm. Edited on FCPX utilizing Premium Beat for musical accompaniment. Performed color correction utilizing a variety of LUTs from ARRI cLog 3 and 4 to REDlog Film v3.
