I am the director of the award-winning series Soul of a Nation. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating the look of each special. Based on the special topic, I designed a lookbook with my vision of how the images are captured. I pick the DPs and determine what crew personnel are needed for each. I discuss my vision with my DP and collaborate on the needed equipment based on that vision. In the field, I work with talent and correspondents [when applicable] to build worlds that are authentic to their story. In post-production, I discuss the look and feel of the show with the editors and give my notes to the producers and editors of each special.
