Role Details:
We are seeking technically savvy AE's to ingest video, help maintain organization in the media asset management system (Nexus), coordinate and catalogue transcriptions (closed captioning & Script synch).
AE’s will also be called on to cut video clips, upload to Nexus and assist with digital video packages, as needed.
The ideal candidate must be a talented, creative post-production professional who can handle multiple tasks both independently and with supervision. They must be comfortable working with Avid.

Your Day-to-Day:
Ingest media via Avid.
Maintain organization of video clips inside Nexus
Create thumbnail images and other graphics from video assets
Encode, upload, and publish videos on Wistia

Key Projects:
Consulting on the development of new video and multimedia projects
Sub-clipping segments for digital distribution

The Assistant Editor's main duty will be to work with the editor to plan and execute in-depth coverage. Responsibilities can include (but are not limited to):

Write in-depth news articles on a variety of topics that show an understanding of our community and resonate with our readers.

Edit stories for clarity, accuracy, readability, content, style and grammar for the daily newspaper, website and magazines. When necessary, provide feedback to reporters and make suggestions on sources or additional facts needed for stories.

Stay in tune with emerging digital trends and experiment rapidly in the digital space.
Be flexible in a changing, fast-paced environment and fill in for reporting vacancies as needed.

Job Description

The Graphic Producer will be responsible for the creation of graphic elements which include written/visual content under tight deadlines in a live broadcast environment including but not limited to a control room.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the content producers to find innovative ways to enhance the on-air content with graphic elements.
Responsible for the creation of the graphic elements in INews.
Work hand in hand with the graphic department to get the latest graphic look for on-air and have knowledge of the latest graphic technologies.
Check and review graphics for grammar, spelling, clarity, and impact under tight deadlines during live productions.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Works under the direct supervision of Executive Producer and is responsible for

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Degree in communication, graphic design, and/or production.

JOB DESCRIPTION
*** 13 and *** 13+ the *** O&O Duopoly in Seattle is seeking a dynamic video editor to join our news team. We are looking for someone who will do more than just lay shots onto a timeline. The successful candidate will be a collaborator who transcends all newsroom workgroups - to ensure our stories come to life with the best possible visuals. We are seeking an editor who is familiar with a diverse array of video editing techniques. For example - video used in a fast-paced nightly sportscast will be cut differently than a serious 3-camera anchor interview. What's more - your work will be showcased in a variety of *** : television newscasts, digital *** , specials & documentaries, and social *** posts.

Our editing team uses Edius to cut video, but experience on similar non-linear editing platforms like Avid or Final Cut is also acceptable. You should be familiar with basic journalistic editing functions, as well as advanced techniques and effects that can enhance traditional video. This would include products in the Adobe Suite. The successful candidate will possess superior editorial judgement, work well in a deadline-driven environment, and be capable of editing video quickly, accurately and creatively. This is a full time position with a regular shift schedule, but the news is a 24/7 world that could include different hours or shifts if warranted for breaking news, special coverage, vacation relief or holidays.

You have an excellent eye for visual compelling storytelling and are passionate about combining writing and storytelling with great pictures and sound. You will report to the Chief Photographer.

Responsibilities

Edit stories, videos, and newscasts on tight deadlines
Maintain news archives
Operate electronic newsgathering equipment
Nonlinear editing using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid, and Edius for newscast elements including PKGs, VOs, VOSOTs, opens, teases and preproduction material
Collaborate with producers, reporters and managers to produce high quality stories
Ensure storage and organization of *** files
Maintain standards for all edited material
Taking in ENG and SNG feeds
Any other editing responsibilities as assigned by news managers

Requirements

Knowledge of nonlinear editing software
Proficiency editing with Adobe Premiere
Can handle and juggle multiple editing assignments under strict deadlines
Knowledge of current video production techniques
Familiarity with mass communications law and *** responsibilities
Record multiple feeds on a digital encoding system
Search for source materials from multiple outlets and platforms
