We are currently seeking applications for a Freelance Dailies Operator for an upcoming Scripted Television Series in Chicago. The contract would be for approx 4 months from late April 2017 through To Aug 2017 with possibility of extension.

We’re looking for technically capable individuals who can work well in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, can comfortably communicate with clients and co-workers.

* Note: this job requires working overnight shifts *

Responsibilities:

• Processing and syncing digital dailies to editorial specifications.
• Dailies Color correction and QC
• Working closely with on-set crew members.
• Frequent communication with members of post-production.
• Assuring the quality and accuracy of the master media for archiving.
• Problem solving and Trouble Shooting

Skills and Experience:

• Experience with Colorfronts EXD/OSD software is strongly preferred
• Experience in dailies color correction is strongly preferred
• Experience in DaVinci Resolve strongly preferred
• Understanding of digital camera file-based workflow
• Proficiency in AVID and Final Cut

The ideal candidate is proficient at creating captivating and shareable content for television, social *** , and mobile platforms.

We are looking for individuals who possess a keen artistic eye, a deep understanding of editing and photography techniques, and a passion for storytelling.

Responsibilities:

Use editing tools to create content for Newscast and Digital platforms.
Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of *** (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
Work closely with news producers, reporters, photojournalists and the digital team.
Receive room operations
Filing a variety of video elements including voice overs, packages, and basic graphics
Capture feeds, and receive story content from field crews while constantly monitor quality control

Requirements:

BA/BS degree preferred
Knowledge of non-linear editing systems using Edius, Premiere, and Photoshop
Interest in broadcast and digital news content
Organizational skills and the ability to work under deadline pressure
Excellent communication skills
Must be deadline-oriented, maintaining quality while staying on tight schedules
Must be able to work early mornings, nights and weekends

Pay Range

$21.23 - $26.56 USD
